How it works and how to install it
The 3W COB LED chip is powered by 9V DC with a current of 300mA via an appropriate LED driver — it should not be connected directly to the mains without a driver. Mounting is done on the included aluminum support, obligatorily using thermal paste between the chip and the heatsink, to ensure heat dissipation and optimal lifespan. Connections are made by soldering or clamps on the four polarity-marked pads, checking the power supply voltage beforehand.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
