How it works and how to install it
The COB LED chip is powered by 36V DC with a current of 1050mA, through a compatible LED driver (not included). Installation is done on an aluminum heatsink using thermal paste — this ensures heat transfer and prolongs the lifespan of the chip. Connections are made by soldering or clamps to the contacts marked in the corners of the aluminum support, observing the indicated polarity.

Do I need a separate heatsink for this LED chip?
Yes, the 40W chip generates significant heat and requires mandatory mounting on an aluminum heatsink with thermal paste to operate within normal parameters and avoid damage.
What LED driver is compatible with this 40W COB chip?
An LED driver with a 36V DC output and a constant current of 1050mA (approximately 38-40W) is required. The driver is not included in the package and must be purchased separately.
Can this LED chip be used outdoors or in humid environments?
No. The chip has no moisture protection and should not be exposed to humid environments, dust, or extreme temperatures. It is intended exclusively for use inside luminaires or protected enclosures.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
