How it works and how to install it
The 15W COB LED chip is powered at 45V DC with a current of 300mA, so it requires a compatible LED driver — it does not connect directly to the mains. Mounting is done on an aluminum heatsink with thermal conductive paste applied between the chip and the heatsink surface, to efficiently dissipate the heat generated at high power. The two power contacts are positioned in diagonal corners, marked with plus and minus, and are soldered or connected via clips according to the indicated polarity.

What LED driver is compatible with this 15W chip?
A driver with a 45V DC output and a constant current of 300mA is required. Choose an LED driver sized for a minimum of 15W at these values for stable operation.
Does it absolutely need a heatsink, or can it be used without one?
A heatsink is mandatory. At 15W, the chip generates significant heat that can damage it in a few minutes without proper thermal dissipation. Thermal conductive paste between the chip and the heatsink is also necessary.
Can this LED chip be used outdoors or in humid environments?
It is not recommended for direct exposure to moisture or excessive heat. For outdoor applications, the chip must be integrated into a lighting fixture with adequate IP protection.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
