How it works and how to install it
The 10W COB LED chip is powered by 30V DC with a current of 300mA, so it requires a compatible LED driver — it does not connect directly to the mains. Installation is done on a metal surface (heatsink or aluminum casing) using thermal paste to ensure heat dissipation; without this measure, the chip's lifespan significantly decreases. Connection is made through the two contacts marked plus and minus located in opposite corners of the support, observing the indicated polarity.

What driver do I need for this 10W COB LED chip?
An LED driver with a 30V DC output and a constant current of 300mA is required. A variable voltage driver or a resistor are not recommended as they do not protect the chip against current variations.
Can it be used without a heatsink or thermal paste?
No. At 10W, the chip generates considerable heat; without proper thermal contact with a heatsink and without thermal paste, the junction temperature rises rapidly and the chip can be irreversibly damaged in a short time.
Can this COB LED chip be mounted outdoors or in humid environments?
It is not recommended for outdoor or high-humidity environments without an additional sealed enclosure, as the chip does not have its own IP rating and is not protected against water ingress.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
