7W Dual-Color COB LED Chip for Lighting Projects
The 28mm 7W COB LED chip integrates two color temperatures on the same substrate — cool white (6000-6500K) and warm white — allowing them to be used independently or in combination. The injected COB technology ensures a homogeneous luminous flux of up to 770 lm, suitable for both DIY projects and professional lighting applications. The aluminum alloy substrate with radial fins dissipates heat uniformly, extending the component's lifespan.

How it works and how to install
The 7W COB LED chip is powered by 21-22V DC with a current of 280-300mA via a compatible LED driver — it does not connect directly to the mains. Before mounting, apply a thin layer of thermal paste between the chip and the heatsink you are attaching to ensure proper heat transfer. Connect the positive and negative poles according to the markings on the substrate, observing the indicated polarity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate driver for this LED chip?
Yes, the chip requires an LED driver that supplies 21-22V DC at 280-300mA. It cannot be powered directly from 220V without a driver.
Can I use only one of the color temperatures, not both?
Yes, the two circuits are independent. You only connect the pair of contacts corresponding to the desired temperature — cool white or warm white — or both for neutral light.
Is thermal paste mandatory for installation?
It is mandatory. The 7W chip generates significant heat; without thermal paste and an adequate heatsink, its lifespan decreases dramatically and the risk of failure increases.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
