How it works and how to install it
The COB LED chip is powered by 15-16V DC continuous voltage through a compatible driver, via the four power contacts (2 positive + 2 negative) marked on the metal substrate. Mounting is done by soldering or mechanical fastening on a heatsink, with the mandatory application of thermal paste between the chip and the cooling surface. It does not require special tools, but it is important to observe polarity and ensure proper cooling to avoid overheating.

What driver do I need for this 5W COB LED chip?
A constant current source (LED driver) that provides 15-16V DC at a current of 280-300mA is required. It should not be connected directly to the mains or variable voltage sources.
Can I use the chip with only one color temperature, not both?
Yes, the 2-in-1 module allows independent powering of the cool white or warm white channel, depending on the contacts to which you connect the driver.
Is thermal paste mandatory for installation?
Yes, applying thermal paste between the chip and the heatsink is mandatory. Without it, the junction temperature rises rapidly and the chip's lifespan decreases significantly.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
