How it works and how to install it
The lamp uses a PIR (passive infrared) sensor that detects motion within its range and automatically turns on the 6 LEDs, turning them off after a preset time interval in the absence of motion. Installation is simple: apply the 3M adhesive tape to the desired surface, stick the soft magnetic strip, and the lamp attaches magnetically to it — no screws, no drilling, no damage to the furniture. The AAA batteries are inserted into the compartment on the back of the casing, accessible via a sliding cover.

How long do the batteries stay charged under normal use?
The duration depends on the frequency of activations, but with 2 quality AAA batteries and moderate use (10-20 activations per day), autonomy can exceed several months.
Can I move the lamp from one cabinet to another without reinstalling it?
Yes — the magnetic strip remains fixed to the furniture, and the lamp detaches and reattaches magnetically instantly, without the need for a new installation.
Does it work with the room light on or only in the dark?
The PIR sensor detects motion regardless of the ambient light level, so the lamp will turn on during the day, not just in the dark.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
