How it works and how to install
The TFS-1 switch operates on the principle of momentary contact: pressing the pedal closes the electrical circuit and starts the equipment, and lifting your foot automatically stops it. The internal spring mechanism ensures quick return to the OFF position. For installation, fix the pedal to the floor or under the workbench with the included screws, connect the cable to the mains and the equipment, then test its operation. No advanced technical knowledge is required — the connections are standard, and assembly takes less than 10 minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Does the pedal stay on if I keep it pressed, or does it turn off automatically?
It turns off automatically. It is a momentary type — the circuit remains active only as long as you keep your foot pressed on the pedal. When you lift your foot, the internal spring returns the pedal, and the equipment stops instantly.
Can it withstand blows and the weight of safety footwear?
Yes, the industrial ABS plastic casing resists impacts and repeated presses. It is designed for use in workshops with daily demands, including heavy safety boots.
Can I connect a bench grinder or a polisher to it?
Yes, as long as the equipment consumes a maximum of 10A at 250V AC (i.e., up to 2500W). Check the label on your equipment — if it does not exceed these values, connection is safe.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
