How it works and how to install it
The converter takes the high-level signal directly from the speaker terminals of the original head unit via its 4 input wires (green/brown for left, gray/black for right) and transforms it into a low-level signal available at the RCA outputs. The two potentiometers on the casing allow individual adjustment of the output level for each channel. Installation is done without major modifications to the electrical system: identify the speaker wires, connect them to the converter's input, and then cable the RCA outputs to the amplifier — an operation achievable in 20–30 minutes with basic tools.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
