The RG6U coaxial cable transmits the video signal from the surveillance camera to the DVR or monitor through the shielded copper core, maintaining image quality over long distances. The two power wires (red and black, 2x0.5 mm cross-section) are attached in a common jacket, so you run a single cable and connect both the signal BNC and the power adapter. Installation does not require special tools — the ends are terminated with BNC connectors via crimping or screwing, an operation accessible to any technician.

Does this cable work for IP cameras or only for analog and HD-AHD cameras?
The RG6U cable is intended for analog, HD-AHD, HD-TVI, and HD-CVI cameras that use a BNC connection. For IP cameras, UTP cable is used, not coaxial.

At common CCTV frequencies (up to 8 MHz for HD), the attenuation over 100 m is small enough to maintain a clear image without an amplifier, provided correct shielding at the ends.
Does the 2x0.5 power wire support the current of a typical surveillance camera?
Yes, the 2x0.5 mm cross-section is dimensioned for typical surveillance camera currents (under 1A at 12V DC), over distances of up to 30-40 meters without significant voltage drop.

This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
