How it works and how to install it
The cable is cut to the desired length directly from the roll, crimped or soldered into cable lugs appropriate for the 6GA section, and connected between the power source and the car audio amplifier or head unit. The rubber sheath is easily stripped with standard wire strippers, without special tools. The uniform diameter throughout its length allows it to pass through cable passages and protective sleeves without difficulty.
Frequently asked questions
Does the 6GA CU+AL cable support the same current as a pure copper cable?
The copper-aluminum alloy has slightly lower conductivity compared to pure copper, but at the 6GA section, it provides sufficient current for medium-power car amplifiers. For installations with amplifiers over 1000W RMS, it is recommended to check the maximum permissible current.
Can I use this cable for both positive power and ground?
The cable is available in red, conventionally intended for the positive power wire. For ground, it is recommended to use a cable of the same section in black or brown, for correct circuit identification.
Which lugs or terminals are compatible with the 6GA section?
Standard ring terminals or spade terminals for 6 AWG section are used, available in any car accessory or electrical store. Crimping is done with crimping pliers for sections from 6 to 10 AWG.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
