How it works and how to install it
The RGB COB LED strip operates at 12V DC and requires a transformer (power supply) of at least 72W and an RGB controller, both purchased separately or from a compatible kit. Installation is simple: clean the surface, peel off the film from the adhesive tape on the back, fix the strip to the profile or directly to the desired surface, and connect the R, G, B, and V+ wires to the RGB controller. No special tools or advanced electrical knowledge are required — the 12V voltage is safe for direct handling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate power supply, or is it included in the package?
The power supply and RGB controller are not included — the strip is delivered alone on a 5-meter roll. You need a 12V power supply with a minimum power of 72W and an RGB controller compatible with 12V.
Can the strip be cut to a length shorter than 5 meters?
Yes, the RGB COB strip can be cut every 50 mm, at the cutting marks printed on the PCB, without damaging the remaining LEDs.
Can this strip be used in the bathroom or in humid areas?
No — the IP20 protection rating means that the strip is not protected against humidity or splashes. It is intended exclusively for dry indoor spaces.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
