IP65 COB LED Strip for Continuous and Uniform Outdoor Lighting
The IP65-rated 528LED/m COB LED strip offers a completely uniform warm white light line, without visible dots and without the granulation effect specific to classic SMD strips. With 2640 LEDs per 5 meters and a protective silicone layer, this strip is designed for installations in outdoor areas exposed to moisture, light rain, or condensation. It is suitable for stair edging, decorative profiles, architectural lighting, and accent applications both indoors and outdoors.

How it works and how to install it
The COB LED strip operates at 12V DC and requires a compatible power supply (not included), sized at a minimum of 72W for the entire 5-meter roll. Installation is straightforward: clean the surface, peel off the 3M adhesive protection from the back of the strip, and apply it to an aluminum profile, wall, or other flat surface. The strip can only be cut at marked points, at regular intervals, without affecting the rest of the segment. Connection to the power source is made via the wires at the end of the strip, without special tools if compatible quick connectors are used.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate power supply, or is it included in the package?
The power supply is not included. You need a 12V DC power source with a minimum power of 72W for the entire 5-meter roll — an 80-100W power source is recommended for a safety margin.
Can this strip be mounted directly outside, on the house facade or along the alley?
Yes, the IP65 protection makes it suitable for outdoor use in conditions of moisture and light rain. It is not designed for submersion in water or direct water jets — for these situations, an IP67 or IP68 strip is required.
Can multiple rolls be connected in series to cover a greater distance?
Connecting multiple rolls in series without a signal amplifier is not recommended, as voltage drop and a noticeable difference in brightness occur over long distances. For lengths over 5 meters, additional power supplies or power amplifiers are used.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
