How it works and how to install it
The JD-188 alarm uses a magnetic sensor consisting of two components: the main body (with siren) and the small magnet, mounted face-to-face on the frame and the sash of the door or window. When the distance between the two parts exceeds the detection threshold upon opening, the siren automatically starts. Installation is done by sticking with the included double-sided adhesive tape or by fixing with screws, without any additional holes needed in the wall.

Yes, the product is compatible with glass doors and windows, as well as with wood, plastic, MDF, or metal surfaces.
What batteries does it use and how long do they last?
The alarm operates on AAA batteries (not included in the package); battery life depends on the frequency of triggers, but in normal use, the batteries last several months.
Can I quickly turn off the alarm if I open the door?
Yes, the main body has an On/Off switch that allows for quick deactivation before opening the door, without triggering the siren.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
