How it works and how to install it
The limit switch operates by mechanically actuating the rod with the roller: when the roller is pressed, the metal blade moves and changes the state of the electrical contact. Depending on how you connect the terminals, the circuit will open or close upon pressing. Mounting is done by screwing into the holes on the casing, followed by connecting the cables to the tinned terminals. Installation takes less than 10 minutes and does not require specialized tools — just a screwdriver and an optional crimping plier.
Frequently asked questions
Can I also use the limit switch for direct current?
Yes, it supports both AC 250V and DC 125V. For direct current, the capacity decreases to 0.3A.
What do normally closed and normally open contacts mean?
Normally closed means that the circuit conducts current at rest and breaks upon pressing. Normally open means that the circuit is interrupted at rest and conducts current when the rod is pressed. Configuration is done by choosing the terminals for connection.
How durable is the roller?
The 4.6mm metal roller is designed for thousands of actuation cycles. The flame-retardant ABS body protects the internal mechanism against shocks and dust.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
